New Zealand – Job ads on Seek rise by 9% with boost from Hospitality and Tourism sector – Staffing Industry Analysts

Job ads on job board Seek New Zealand jumped by 9% in June 2022 when compared to June 2021.
When compared to the previous month, job ads were down 3%.
At the same time, applications per job ad were up 5% over the previous month.
By region, Taranaki reported year-on-year growth of 47% while Marlborough saw an increase of 28%. The smallest increase over the year was seen in Gisborne (1%).
When compared to the previous month, Taranaki reported growth of 9%, the highest among regions, while on the other hand Waikato reported a decrease of 8%.
By job ad volume, among industries Hospitality and Tourism reported an increase of 40% year-on-year, while Retail and Consumer Products (24%) also reported high growth. The Construction sector recorded a decline of 12% while Information & Communication Technology was down 2%.
On a monthly basis, Accounting was flat at 0% while no regions reported growth. Construction reported the biggest decline at 14%. Manufacturing, transport and logistics saw a 1% decline.
